What We Collect

Nothing that identifies you personally. giftlist.life has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no email capture, no comment system, and no contact forms. There is nowhere on the site to submit personal information.

The only data collected is anonymous aggregate pageview data, described below.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool self-hosted on our own server at analytics.giftlist.life. Umami records anonymous information about page visits: which page was viewed, the approximate country, the referring site, the device type, and the browser language.

Umami does not use cookies. It does not store your IP address — instead, it generates a rotating, hashed visitor ID each day, which cannot be used to identify you or track you across sites.

We use this data only to understand which gift guides are useful to readers and which pages need improvement. The data never leaves our server.

Affiliate Links

Many of the "Shop on…" buttons on giftlist.life are affiliate links to retailers like Amazon, Etsy, and others. When you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies and track the referral in order to credit us with any resulting purchase. This is how we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

Once you leave giftlist.life, the privacy policy of the destination site applies. We don't control and aren't responsible for how those sites handle your data. If you'd rather not be tracked by a specific retailer, you can copy the product name from our page and search for it directly on their site without using our link.

Third-Party Resources

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts so pages render consistently across browsers. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No other third-party scripts run on this site.

Cookies

giftlist.life sets no cookies of its own. You will not see a cookie consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Affiliate retailers you click through to may set their own cookies once you arrive on their site.

Children

giftlist.life is a general-audience editorial site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the site collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing child-specific to remove.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal information that a website holds about you — access, correction, deletion, portability. Because giftlist.life does not collect personal information in the first place, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete.

If we change what data is collected or how it's used, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date below. Material changes will be noted here rather than buried in a version history.
